Find out what is close to Loi Mansion in Legian, how far the beaches and Seminyak are by road, how to get around, and what is waiting at home when you come back.

Loi Mansion is a quiet house on Jl. Jatayu I in Legian, a short ride from Seminyak. This guide covers what is around it, how far each place is and how to move between them without losing half a day. Every distance here is a road distance by car; how long the ride takes depends on traffic, which in this part of Bali changes a great deal through the day.

Close to the house

Legian sits between Kuta to the south and Seminyak to the north, so the house works well as a base for both. Trans Studio Mall Bali is about 1.3 km by road, handy for shopping and a good indoor plan on a rainy afternoon. Seminyak, known for its restaurants, cafés and boutiques, is a short ride away; Seminyak Village, a shopping centre on the Seminyak side, is about 4.2 km by road and makes an easy first outing. Ngurah Rai International Airport is about 9 km by road, which keeps arrival and departure days simple as long as you leave room for traffic.

Beaches and west-coast sunsets

This coast faces west over the Indian Ocean, so the sun sets over the water. Three beaches are within easy reach:

  • Double Six Beach, about 3.6 km by road, the closest of the three.
  • Legian Beach, about 4.3 km by road, the long beach of Legian itself.
  • Kuta Beach, about 5.3 km by road, the best known of the three.

For sunset, leave earlier than seems necessary, because the roads towards the beach fill up in the late afternoon. The surf along this stretch can be strong, so swim between the red and yellow flags where lifeguards set them out, and stay out of the water when it looks rough. In the middle of the day, when the sun is at its strongest, bring water and a hat.

Getting around

Most guests use the Gojek and Grab apps, which book both cars and motorbike rides and show the fare before you confirm. A car is more comfortable for two or more people or in the rain; a motorbike ride is often the quicker choice when the roads are busy. Check the plate number before you get in. If you have your own car or scooter, parking is available at the property.

Plan by traffic rather than by distance: the same short trip can take very different amounts of time depending on the hour, so allow extra time in the late afternoon and evening, and on the way to the airport. In the rainy season, roughly November to March, keep an indoor plan ready. If your day includes a temple, bring a sarong and cover your shoulders.

Many trips combine the coast with a few nights inland. If yours does, the same ARM team runs Ayawana Villa Ubud in Kedisan, Tegallalang, in the Ubud area: a three-bedroom timber villa with a pool among rice fields, about 41.9 km by road from Loi Mansion.

What is waiting at home

After a day out, the house takes care of the rest. The pool has its own waterfall wall, loungers and a tropical garden around it, a calm place to cool off after the beach. LOI Cafe serves chicken katsu with seven sauces, small plates to share, and coffee, Thai tea and matcha, for a quick bite or a long, easy lunch. At LOI Spa, the therapists offer Balinese, deep tissue and head massages; in-house guests receive 20% off every treatment, and booking in advance is recommended. A billiard lounge for a slow hour with friends and a private gym to keep up your routine complete the house.

Check-in is from 14:00 and check-out is by 12:00, so even an arrival day can end with a first sunset at Double Six. Our location page shows exactly where the house sits, which is useful to share with your driver.
